Before one of my first trips away many years ago my sister gave me a journal with a quote by Souza across the front reading; “Happiness is a journey, not a destination”. This has remained one of, if not the most significant reminder to myself throughout these crazy past few years- that travel is as much about the journey as the destination. I first started my blog to document my travels and attempt to put in to words the experiences that leave you speechless- in hopes of inspiring others to seek their own similar journeys. I never dreamt that I would one day be continuing this message while working alongside a multi award winning airline such as Cathay Pacific.
As part of Cathay Pacific’s “Life Well Travelled” campaign I have been sharing every experience from the airport and lounge, during the flight and on to some of their destinations, all from my own perspective. If you’ve been following me on Instagram you may have spotted me visiting Cathay Pacific‘s home town of Hong Kong before The Maldives… but much more to come from there shortly!
I first flew with Cathay Pacific on one of my first trips to Europe years ago, when I was petrified of the unknown. I’m not going to lie, I’m still anxious every time I step on to a plane but am now comforted with the knowledge of how worthwhile every step and experience is in the end. From the moment of stepping on board my Cathay Pacific flight from Sydney to Hong Kong I felt relaxed with anticipation, but was nearly too comfortable once we had arrived. I have to particularly thank my hostess Abbey who went above and beyond by hand writing an incredible list of food and sightseeing recommendations for my stay in Hong Kong. Genuine first hand advice like this is always dearly needed and appreciated.
I have complete diaries of my Life Well Travelled experiences from Hong Kong and The Maldives to come, but in the mean time feel free to explore the campaign here and share your own #lifewelltravelled experiences too!
